The Frog Lake First Nations’ Children & Family, Intervention and Prevention Horse Healing Centre harnesses the healing outcomes of horses. This facility empowers Frog Lake FNs to foster family reunification and healing, and to break intergenerational trauma.

With the facility set into the existing slope, the landscape design focused on embedding the new center in the existing site context and ensures building and land are a beautiful fit. The slope between the upper and lower building wing has been designed as an outdoor classroom and amphitheater; a small play area makes use of the existing hill with an embankment slide; Traditional healing plants will be featured in a medicine wheel garden, located just outside the ceremonial room allowing easy access for elders. In addition the outdoor spaces include a generous patio outside the event space and kitchen, raised planters for community gardening and a fire pit; Many walking and horseback riding trails have been suggested throughout the site and will connect to a Legacy Stone Circle, cultural grounds reserved for cultural activities and ceremony, and to a fire pond, holding all water required to fight a possible fire, designed as a feature pond with trails around its shore.

Plantings throughout the site include many traditional edible and medicinal plants, as well as a variety of fruit trees.
